Melbourne Lawyers' Big Band - 5 May 2024

In its 5th year, the Melbourne Lawyers Big Band returns to the JazzLab for a shady afternoon’s liquored-up historically-informed blowing and beating, bashing and bleating, from the Washingtonians of 1928 through to Jason Marshall from 2019, with stops at Thad Jones, the Count, Mingus, Thelonious and Quincy along the way.

There’s even a bit of Stan Kenton in there somewhere. Add a memorial to the finest actor of his generation – Leslie Nielsen – and you may never see the inside of Statesville Prison again.

Performance details:
Sunday 5 May 2024 at 3:00pm (doors open 2:30pm)
